Course Objectives:
This course gives the audience an understanding of the particular air filtration criteria and practices for land based Gas Turbines. It will deliver a simple understanding of Gas Turbine operations in different climates and why the selection of particular filtration types are use.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn how important clean air is and how if it is restricted the performance of the Gas Turbine and reduced and emissions released increased. Different filter designs and materials will be described and an appraisal given on their strengths and weaknesses. Various performance enhancing methods will be discussed, namely compressor washing and power augmentation systems. There will then be an explanation of the concept of the balanced approach where the filter system can be optimized with compressor washing.
