SSC and WFI kick off their MoU with 100,000 USD in scholarships for Filtration & Separation

Kuwait City, Kuwait, July 9th 2023: Kuwait-based Sustainable Solutions Company (SSC) and Toronto, Canada-based Waterloo Filtration Institute (WFI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate to increase awareness on the role of air filtration in enhancing air quality, regionally and globally, WFI said through a Press release. Mr. Salem Al-Ajmi, Managing Director, SSC, and Dr. Iyad Al-Attar, Strategic Director of International Affairs, WFI, signed the MoU, WFI said.

WFI said it is dedicated to developing advanced filtration and separation solutions to support the global filtration and separation industry for a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable world. WFI said it believes that education is the first step for people to gain the knowledge, creative thinking, empowerment, and skills they need to change an extraordinary life and make the world a better place to live.

Backed by the joint efforts of over 50 globally leading experts from Asia, Europe, and North America, it supports the global filtration industry with the most comprehensive, efficient, practical, informative, flexible, cost-effective, and updated education programs, WFI said. It covers the global filtration market, filter media market and technologies, air & liquid filtration technologies, air filter design, liquid filter design, air filter testing and evaluation, liquid filter testing and assessment, and other filtration-related new developments, opportunities, and trends, it added.

SSC is a leading training and consultancy firm embracing sustainability and energy solutions over the past years. SSC has conducted more than 21 webinars with local and regional reach of thousands of professionals. SSC’s training programs and workshops have proved invaluable for private and government organizations. Dr. Iyad Al-Attar, WFI Strategic Director, stated, “Signing MOU with SSC represents a pivotal step toward building up partnerships to serve the Kuwait and GCC Region better, faster and farther to confront the rising tide of air pollution” Dr. Al-Attar added, “ The climate and operational conditions where HVAC systems have to function and deliver the required thermal comfort and air quality pose additional challenges given the excessive heat and frequent sandstorm. Creating awareness, spreading knowledge, and promoting innovation that provides second-to-none air quality for the building envelope is the order of the day. Dr. Al-Attar stated, “ The MENA region has many challenges to face and commitments to meet to render the built environment and building envelope safe to occupy.” Dr. Al-Attar added: Our MOU with SSC represents a promising training and knowledge platform. WFI is pleased to announce the launch of this collaboration by offering ten Scholarships for Kuwaiti professionals to undertake the ( Certified Filtration and Separation (CFSS) program through SSC.
